(Cleveland) - Cuyahoga County leaders are looking to refund 7-million dollars to people, money which has set for years in deposit in the Cuyahoga County Clerk of Courts Office.

Cuyahoga County Executive Ed Fitzgerald says there are 40,000 instances of these funds in the system.

The dormant money was derived from people posting criminal bonds, civil bonds or filing fees in court cases.

Folks who believe they may have unclaimed funds due to them, may log on to: www.cuyahogacounty.us/unapplieddeposits.

If money is not claimed after a five year period, it will be put into the county's general fund for use on county services.
