(Cleveland) - The Cleveland Indians hosted visitors from area nonprofits during their Day of Caring at Progressive Field.

Team President Mark Shapiro was among the front office personnel welcoming families to a fully catered Thanksgiving dinner at their Terrace Club.

Day of Caring offered meals to visitors from Our Lady of the Wayside, Shoes and Clothes for Kids, Boys and Girls Clubs, OhioGuidestone and Laura’s Home.

Shapiro told Newsradio WTAM 1100 it was all part of the organization’s continuing commitment to the Cleveland community.

Thanksgiving meals were prepared by Delaware North Companies and served by members of the Indians front office, including Paul Dolan, Mark Shapiro and others.

Children were delighted by the presence of Slider and his fellow mascots, plus families got to pose for portrait photos with the mascots and Tribe personnel.
