What's the difference between the Switch 1 and Switch 2?
Size and Weight:
The Switch 2 is slightly larger and heavier than the original Switch, but the increase in size is not significant.
Display:
The Switch 2 features a larger, 7.9-inch 1080p LCD screen compared to the original Switch's 6.2-inch 720p screen. The Switch 2's screen also has a variable refresh rate (VRR) of up to 120Hz, while the original Switch has a fixed 60Hz refresh rate.
Storage:
The Switch 2 has a built-in storage of 256GB, a significant upgrade from the original Switch's 32GB. Both consoles support microSD card expansion, but the Switch 2 uses microSD Express cards, which are not compatible with the original Switch.
Processors:
The Switch 2 is more powerful than its predecessor, with improved processing power and graphics capabilities.
Joy-Cons:
The Switch 2 Joy-Cons are now magnetic, allowing them to attach to the console in a new way, and they also offer mouse functionality.
Ports:
The Switch 2 has two USB-C ports, one on top and one on the bottom, while the original Switch has only one.
GameChat:
The Switch 2 introduces a dedicated "GameChat" feature with a button on the Joy-Con, enabling voice chat during gameplay.
