CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA - A training mission with an F-35 jet on Sunday afternoon caused it's pilot to eject during a 'mishap'. The aircraft was a Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II and the pilot ejected safely and was transported to a local medical center. Emergency teams have been deployed in an ongoing effort to locate the jet. Military officials are asking the public to cooperate with military and civilian authorities as the effort continues. Officials say that the Jet belongs to Marine Fighter Attack Training Squadron 501, a unit focused on training pilots to meet annual training requirements.
