Officials are still searching for missing people after last week’s wildfires destroyed nearly 1,000 buildings, mostly homes, across 6,000 acres in Boulder County.

Initially, five people were reportedly missing, but the estimate was reduced to three after two were later found. On Sunday, one missing person of those three was reportedly found, leaving two people believed to be missing – one of which is a 91-year-old woman. Boulder County Sheriff Joe Pelle stated at a news conference that these could become a “recovery cases,” factoring in the burning debris and amount snow that has fallen since, estimated between 8-10 inches. As of Friday, there have been no reported deaths

The wildfires affected the towns of Louisville and Superior, both about 20 miles northwest of Denver, with a combined 34,000 residents that were ordered to evacuate on Thursday.
