Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, home of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Cleveland Monsters, will require all fans ages two and older to wear a mask starting on December 31st, 2021 through January 31st, 2022. Officials have attributed the decision on the rising number of COVID-19 cases in Cuyahoga County.
The venue will not allow neck gaiters, bandanas and masks with valves or vents, but will provide masks for entry at no cost. The statement also acknowledged that proof of COVID-19 vaccination or proof of a negative test could also become required.
For the entire 2020-2021 NBA season, fans were required to wear masks to all games. This season, the arena had “strongly encouraged” fans to wear masks to games, but did not require it until Wednesday’s announcement. Masks will need to be worn at all times "unless actively eating or drinking."
Other scheduled events within the next month at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse include Disney on Ice, and Kacey Musgraves concert.
