The Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Toronto Raptors last night, 144-99, for its second-largest margin of victory in franchise history – after a 68-point win in 1991. This was the Cavs’ eighth win in the past nine games.
Each starter scored at least 16 points, led by Darius Garland and Kevin Love who each had 22. With several players in health and safety protocols, Cavs’ forward Justin Anderson led the team in minutes played in his second game on a 10-day contract. All twelve active Cavs players scored, and as a team the Cavs made 22 three-point shots, shot over 50 percent from the floor, and scored 54 points in the paint – all figures higher than the Raptors had.
The Cavs collected their 20th win after just 33 games, compared to last season when it took 54 games. At 20-13 the Cavs will play the New Orleans Pelicans (12-22) tomorrow at 8:00 PM on the road, and seek their first win in New Orleans since 2010.
