11-year-old Davyon Johnson has been recognized and awarded for his heroic actions on December 9th. A middle school student at the 6th and 7th Grade Academy in Muskogee, Oklahoma, Johnson saved two peoples’ lives.
First, he saved a classmate who was choking on a bottle cap by using the Heimlich maneuver, which he credited learning from YouTube. Later that day, Johnson helped a woman with a walker escape from her burning house.
Johnson, an aspiring EMT, has received several awards and recognition. The Muskogee Mayor declared December 10th “Dayvon Johnson Day,” who said he would receive a key to the city. Among his other awards, the Muskogee County Sheriff’s Office named Johnson an honorary Deputy, and his school board gave him the heroism award.
