The Cleveland Cavaliers’ six-game winning streak ended last night in Boston with a 111-101 loss to the Celtics. This was the team's first game since a COVID-outbreak that caused the NBA to postpone Sunday’s contest against the Atlanta Hawks. Last night, seven players were in health and safety protocols including starters Jarrett Allen, Evan Mobley, and Isaac Okoro.

The Cavs trailed by double-digits for the rest of the game after the 6:00 mark of the second quarter. The team outrebounded the Celtics, 53-48, but committed more turnovers and shot a lower percentage from the field.

Three Cavs players scored double-digits: starter Darius Garland led the Cavs with 28 points, while Kevin Love and Cedi Osman had 18 and 13, respectively, off the bench. Tacko Fall, who began his career in Boston, played a season-high 19 minutes and had a season-high ten rebounds in his return to TD Garden.

The Cavs drop to 19-13, fourth in the Eastern Conference behind the Brooklyn Nets (21-9), and two other teams in the Central division - the Chicago Bulls (19-10) and the Milwaukee Bucks (20-13). Next, the Cavs are scheduled to host the Toronto Raptors on Sunday at 6:00 PM.
