The Cleveland Cavaliers’ game scheduled for Sunday against the Atlanta Hawks was postponed after five players test positive for COVID-19 in the same morning.
The team now has seven players in the NBA’s health and safety protocols including Evan Mobley and Isaac Okoro, who were both added within the week. It is the first Cavs’ game postponed this season, although it is one of five postponed games that the NBA announced involving multiple teams.
The Cavs could resume playing on Wednesday against the Boston Celtics at 7:30 PM in Boston. With a 19-12 record, the Cavs currently hold the third seed in the Eastern Conference, and are half a game behind the Chicago Bulls (18-10) in the Central Division.
