The United States Air Force has discharged 27 troops that did not receive a COVID-19 vaccination. The branch set a November 2nd deadline for all members to becoming fully vaccinated against the virus, barring approved medical exemptions or religious accommodations. As part of the Air Force’s published COVID-19 policy for individuals that do not get the vaccine, those discharged might have to return unearned special or incentive pay.
The Air Force had previously discharged 37 members in basic training, making it 64 military personnel reported to date.The Navy’s deadline was November 28th for active duty, and is December 28th, 2021 for Ready Reserve Navy Service members.The Army’s deadline for active duty units to receive the COVID-19 vaccine is December 15th, and the deadline for Reserve and National Guard units is June 30th, 2022.
