Ryan Brandt, formerly a server at Oven and Tap restaurant in Bentonville, Arkansas, and another server received a $4,400 tip from a group of 44 diners on Monday, December 6th as part of a “$100 Dinner Club Challenge.”
Although Grant Wise, who headed the group of 44, intended to deliver the tip for Brandt and the other server on shift, Brandt was required to split it with the rest of her colleagues. However, Wise asked Oven and Tap to return the tip so that he could personally deliver it to Brandt instead. Brandt informed him about not being able to accept the entire tip for herself. The next day, Brandt was fired reportedly for telling Wise about the shared tipping policy.
