Indians salvaged the final game of their season series with the Astros after a 5-4 win in Houston. Indians rookie shortstop Ernie Clement had a career night after driving in a season-high three runs. Houston tied the game at four after scoring twice in the bottom of the sixth, but a Cesar Hernandez solo home run off Astros reliever Austin Pruitt in the top of the seventh proved to be the difference. With the victory, Terry Francona earned his 721st win as manager of the Indians to tie Mike Hargrove for second in franchise history.
