Former U.S. Senator Mike Gravel has died at the age of 91. Gravel was representing Alaska as a Democratic Senator from 1969 to 1981. Gravel read into the Congressional Record over 4 thousand papers in the Pentagon Papers, which looked into the history of the U.S.'s involvement in the Vietnam War. Gravel also made a run for Democratic nomination for President in 2008 and again in 2020. According to Gravel's daughter, the former Senator had been living in Seaside, California and his health was fading.
