It all came down to a late call in the seventh inning that gave Eddie Rosario a second chance and he took full advantage with a three-run homer as the Indians downed the Royals 8-6 in Kansas City.
What could have been a strike three but was called a ball by Dan Bellino gave Rosario all the opportunity he needed to send the very next pitch into the right field stands for the tie-breaking home run. Josh Naylor added a two-run shot for a five-run inning Emmanuel Clase worked the ninth inning for his sixth save that sealed Cleveland's sixth victory in eight games.
The Royals looked to tie the game once more in the bottom of the seventh as Jorge Soler doubled to bring in Carlos Santana and Hunter Dozier knocked one out for a two-run homer but it wasn't enough.
