Indians take 2 out of 3 in the Twin Cities

MINNEAPOLIS, MN -- Mike Clevinger won his 10th consecutive decision, as the tribe bats rallied behind him in a 5-2 victory over the Minnesota Twins.

The tribe jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning on a Franmil Reyes two-run single, his 68th RBI of the season. Carlos Santana crushed his 33rd home run of the season. Francisco Lindor also went yard, launching a solo home run in the 5th, and Mercado added an insurance run on a sac-fly in the 7th inning. Tribe starter Mike Clevinger (11-2) pitched 6 1/3rd innings, allowing two runs on four hits with two walks, striking out seven batters. Clevinger has not lost a game since June 28, in his last 13 starts he is 10-0 with a 2.00 ERA and 108 strikeouts in 81 total innings.

The Indians move to 1 1/2 games behind the Oakland Athletics for the second spot in the wild car race in the American League, and moving to 5 1/2 back of the division leading Minnesota Twins. The tribe will head to Los Angeles to take on the Los Angeles Angels in a three-game set, which will begin on Monday evening. Shane Bieber will take the hill for the visiting tribe, as he will face off against Angels' left hander Patrick Sandoval. First pitch is set for 10:07 pm ET on Monday evening at Angel Stadium of Anaheim in Anaheim, California.Check out highlights from tonight's game below!
