The American League is celebrating an 8-6, 10-inning win over the National League in the MLB All-Star Game in D.C. Astros teammates Alex Bregman and George Springer hit back-to-back home runs in the top of the 10th to break a 5-all tie and put the Junior Circuit in front for good. Jean Segura's three-run, pinch-hit homer in the eighth gave the AL a 5-2 lead. Scooter Gennett's two-run, pinch-hit homer in the bottom of the ninth got the National League even. Edwin Diaz blew the save in the ninth, but got credit for the win. J.A. [[ Jay ]] Happ gave up a solo shot to Joey Votto in the bottom of the 10th, but held on for the save. Ross Stripling took the loss. The teams combined for a record 10 home runs. Bregman was named the game's Most Valuable Player.
