Indians fall to Cubs 7-2 as batters continue to struggle

The Indians loss to the Cubs in Progressive Field tonight by the score of 7-2 after a rough night all around for the Indians. Carlos Carrasco was the starter for the tonight. Carrasco lasted 4.1 innings giving up four hits, three of which scored including a home run to Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo in the top of the third inning. The Indians used their bullpen as well using pitchers Oliver Perez (1.1IP, 1H, 1ER, 1BB) Adam Cimber (1IP, 1H, 1R, 1HR) James Karinchak (1.1 IP, 1H, 1R, 1ER, 2BB, 4K) and closing out the game was Nick Wittgren (1.0IP 1H 1R 1BB 2K)

Indians pitchers struck out 13 and walked 9 batters in the game.

The batters when able to get on base but were not able to score any runs. Franmil Reyes continues to improve and get on base, Reyes who struck out once was able to get on base in his other three at bats, going 3 of 4 on the night. The Indians in 33 at bats had eight hits and two runs scored while striking out 10 times.

The Indians fall to 10-9 on the season leaving the Indians three games back in the win column. The Indians are back on the field Friday to take on the Detroit Tigers in Detroit.
