CLEVELAND, OH -- Mike Clevinger was brilliant in tonight's matchup between the Indians and Tigers, matching a career-high 12 strikeouts. The tribe right hander threw six full innings, giving up 6 hits and one earned run, striking out a dozen and walking one batter. Clevinger earned his third win of the season (3-2) as the Indians pounce on the visiting Detroit Tigers by the final score of 7-2.

In the eighth inning of a one run ballgame, the Indians' bats woke up and removed all doubt, pouring in four runs to take a five run lead. Francisco Lindor lead off the eighth with a line drive homer to right field, his 15th long shot of the season. Carlos Santana followed up the home run with a double off the right field wall, and was then driven home by Jason Kipnis. Greg Allen dealt the final blow to the Tigers with a pinch-hit two-run RBI double.

Jose Ramirez had a 3-hit game, extending his hit streak to nine games. After slumping through most of the season thus far, Jose Ramirez appears to be turning things around. In the month of July, Jose is hitting an impressive .355, 3 HR, 10 RBI, and 12 runs scored in the month of July, with an OPS of 1.029.

To say the Cleveland Indians have the Detroit Tigers' number of late would be a vast understatement. The tribe have defeated the Tigers 11 times out of 12 games this year, and are 51-17 against Detroit in the past four seasons combined. After tonight's victory the Indians move to a season-best 14 games over the .500 mark.

Cleveland will look to complete a four-game sweep of the visiting Detroit Tigers on Thursday night. The tribe will give the nod to Trevor Bauer, as he will square off against Matthew Boyd. First pitch is set for 7:10 pm ET at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio. Check out highlights from tonight's victory below!
