CLEVELAND--Brad Hand (4-3) was 22 of 22 in saves but for the first time in 2019, it was not his night in save opportunities. Royals score five in the ninth including the Nicky Lopez RBI infield single and Hunter Dozier's grand slam with no out before Hand was pulled.

The Indians are now 1-4 against the Royals but they have a chance to win this series Wednesday afternoon as RHP Trevor Bauer (5-6, 3.69) will try to get his first win at home this season as he will face RHP Jakob Junis (4-6, 5.18).

Kevin McCarthy (2-1) is credited with tonight's win despite giving up back-to-back homers to Roberto Perez and Mike Freeman in the fifth. Shane Bieber was in line for the win well before the blown save pitching 5 2/3 innings but he was pulled after a Carlos Santana error that led to a 2-1 Royals lead after the Whit Merrifield RBI Double.

Santana is rumored to compete in the Home Run Derby here in Cleveland. We will end this article with a resume builder.
