Early Home Runs Doom Tribe in Series Opener

CLEVELAND-- The Rays jumped on Adam Plutko for 7 earned runs in 5+ innings to win game 1 of the series 7-2.

Rays starter Ryan Yarbrough (3-1) turned in a career high 7.1 innings allowing 2 earned runs in the Rays victory. He lowered his ERA nearly 2 full points (6.38) in Thursday Night's start.

Adam Plutko (1-1) fell behind early giving up three solo home runs in the first two innings. Jordan Luplow supplied the Tribe's only offense on the day with a 2 run double in the bottom of the 6th.

The Indians are now 3-5 on their current homestand and 25-24 on the year. They stand 8 games back in the American League Central behind the Minnesota Twins and 1.5 games behind the Boston Red Sox in the Wild Card race.
