CLEVELAND--The Indians offensive struggles continues and now the pitching is struggling too as the Indians fall to the Oakland Athletics 7-2 Wednesday afternoon.

The A's starter Frankie Montas (6-2) had six scoreless innings and the A's scored at least one run in each of the first seven innings (except the fifth).

Jefry Rodriguez (1-4) fell behind early and never recovered as he gave up four earned runs and was taken out after four innings. The Indians were down 7-0 before Jake Bauers homered in the eighth inning.

After the Indians won 3 of 4 against the Baltimore Orioles, they dropped three straight to the Oakland A's and lost five of six to Oakland in 2019.

The Indians are now seven games behind the Minnesota Twins for the top spot in the AL Central. With today's loss, the Indians are now tied with the Boston Red Sox for the 2nd AL Wild Card Spot.
