SEATTLE--It was one of the worst starts in career history for Carlos Carrasco last Friday against Kansas City but on Wednesday night, Carrasco struck out 12 and only gave up three hits over seven innings. Jake Bauers provided the only run with a solo homer and the Indians defeat the Seattle Mariners 1-0 to complete the three game sweep. Indians have won three straight while the Mariners dropped six straight.
Nick Wittgren recorded his first career save, pitching the last two innings. The 20 game home run streak ended for the Mariners. This streak was the longest in baseball history to start a season. Ryon Healy had a homer overturned to a foul ball in the third after replay review.
Indians return home Friday night against the Atlanta Braves. RHP Corey Kluber (1-2, 6.16) will try to rebound after a bad start against Kansas City last Saturday night. Mariners will start RHP Felix Hernandez (1-1, 4.38) Thursday night at the Los Angeles Angels.
