Spring Training Notes with Andre Knott

Notes from Arizona

-On Sunday the IndiansReassignedOF Brandon Barnes, C TimFederowiczandINF Michael Freemanto Minor League camp. This puts the roster at 41 players as the team will have 11 days to get the roster down to 25 men for its opener in Minnesota.

-This week will be a key week towards the making of the roster.Terry Francona has stated that he and the medical staff will sit down with Francisco Lindor and beginputting together a plan for the next steps in his rehab of his calf injury. Lindor played in some parts of 3 different minor league games this past week in a “controlled” atmosphere.

-controlled in the way of Lindor has not been asked to run all out, he has not dived for balls in the infield when playing at his position. He has hit 2 home runs vs minor league competition. Francona said that he knows that Lindor truly wants to break camp with the club, the question is that what’s best for a player that will be needed for the bulk of the season?

-The Indians will not confirm nordeny the signing of outfielder Carlos Gonzalez. The 3 time All Star and gold glover formerly of the Rockieshas reportedly agreed to a deal with the ballclub but needs to get into camp and pass a physical then most likely the team will proceed with getting him ready for thebig leagueseason.
