Indians Defeat White Sox 11-0

The Indians defeated the Chicago White Sox, 11-0, in Goodyear Ballpark on Tuesday afternoon. 

LEONYS MARTIN continued his hot spring, connecting for a 2-run homer in the bottom of the 3rd inning, scoring MAX MOROFF, who doubled to open the frame. Martin is now hitting .500 (8-for-16) with a pair of homers. CARLOS SANTANA, hitting .438 this spring, launched his third homer in the 6th inning before the club plated five runs in the 7th, getting RBI singles from YU CHANG and BRANDON BARNES and two-run single from DIONAR NAVARRO. The club added on another three runs in the 8th inning on a pair of sacrifice flies (BOBBY BRADLEY & Chang) and an RBI single from OSCAR MERCADO.

ADAM PLUTKO (3.2IP, 1H, 0R, 1BB, 3SO) was sharp in his third start of the exhibition season as BEN TAYLOR, BRAD HAND (3 strikeouts), ALEX WILSON, TYLER OLSON and JOSH SMITH completed the five-hit shutout.

The Indians will take on the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday evening, March 6 in Glendale. RHP MIKE CLEVINGER will make his first start of the spring against LHP RICH HILL for the Dodgers. The game will be televised on MLB Network.
