Rays, Snell, One-Hit Indians

(St. Petersburg, FL)  --  Blake Snell took a no-hit bid into the seventh inning on his way to his MLB-leading 19th win as the Rays edged the Indians 3-1 in St. Pete.  Snell struck out nine while allowing just a solo homer to Jose Ramirez in the seventh as he moved to 19-and-5 on the season.

Ji-Man Choi clubbed a two-run homer in the first inning and Kevin Kiermaier had a sac-fly RBI in the fourth as Tampa took the rubber match of the three-game set.

Carlos Carrasco fell to 16-and-9 with the loss.  Cleveland wrapped up its road trip 3-and-4.   Since the Tribe lost and the Twins beat the Yankees, the Indians' Magic Number to clinch the AL Central Division remains at 3.

The Indians are off on Thursday.  They return home Friday for a nine-game home stand, their final home stand of the regular season.  In the last regular season series at Progressive Field, the Tribe will host Detroit, the Chicago White Sox, and Boston.
