Indians, Bieber, Shut Out The Rays

(St. Petersburg, FL)  --  Shane Bieber and two relievers combined on a four-hitter as the Indians blanked the Rays 2-0 in St. Pete.  Bieber struck out 11 while pitching three-hit ball into the seventh for his 10th win.  Cody Allen closed it out for his 27th save.  

Yan Gomes hit a solo homer in the fifth inning and Edwin Encarnacion went deep in the sixth for the Tribe. 

Joey Wendle had two of the four hits for Tampa Bay, which had won four straight and eight of its last nine games.  Tyler Glasnow fell to 0-and-4 with the loss.

The rubber game of the series with the Rays is Wednesday afternoon at Tropicana Field.   Carlos Carrasco starts for the Tribe, and Blake Snell for the Rays.  First pitch at 1:10 p.m. on WTAM 1100, 106.9 FM, and ALT 99.1.

With the Tribe's win Tuesday, combined with a win by second-place Minnesota, the Magic Number to clinch the Central Division is down to 3.
