CLEVELAND – As we enter into Week 6 of the NFL season, the Browns have yet to win a game and Carson Wentz and the Philadelphia Eagles improved to 5-1 on the year with a 28-23 victory over the Carolina Panthers on Thursday night. Yeah, that pretty much sums of football in Northeast Ohio right now. Nevertheless, below you will find our selections for “Picks With Nick” for Week 6 of the NFL slate against the spread (for entertainment purposes only, of course).

Following our first season, in which we nailed 54% of the games we selected against the spread (ATS), we are back at it again enjoying another winning season so far. In fact, here’s our numbers through six weeks of college football and five weeks of the NFL against the number:

CFB: 17-13-1 (57%)

NFL: 13-7 (65%)

Total: 30-20-1 (60%)

Our picks are made against Las Vegas oddsmakers merely helping create football interactions on Facebook and Twitter, as well as online and on-air content for Newsradio WTAM 1100 and WTAM.com.

Similar to last football season, our goal is to win 53% of our picks against the spread. Las Vegas sports books, give us 11/10 odds or -110, so in order to break even in picking games against the spread (ATS) we must win 52.4% of the games we select. Winning 58% of picks ATS would place you among the most elite sports handicappers in the world. We’ll shoot for somewhere between 53% - 58% again this season.

We are again keeping our college and NFL selections separate, but we will update the results weekly with full transparency seeing how we stack up against the Las Vegas oddsmakers. We are coming off a winning first season in which we hit 54% ATS in college football and NFL combined in 2016.

“Picks With Nick” will also feature a radio segment weekly on Newsradio WTAM 1100 discussing our selections.

Below is our full slate of NFL picks featuring five selections ATS for Week 6:

Baltimore Ravens v Cincinnati Bengals

Game: Green Bay Packers vs. Minnesota Vikings

Where: Minneapolis, Minnesota – U.S. Bank Stadium

Kickoff: 1:00 pm ET

TV: FOX

Spread: Packers -3

Nick’s Pick: This line hardly makes any sense. The Vikings are on a short week following a hard-fought 20-17 victory on Monday Night Football against the Chicago Bears, while Aaron Rodgers and the Packers are fresh off an impressive 35-31 comeback win against the Dallas Cowboys last week and now looking to improve to 5-1 on the season. We’ll side with Minnesota here, because despite being a divisional game, this could be a classic let-down opportunity for Green Bay and the Vikings always play better at home. We hope we're not overthinking this one. Nick’s Pick here is Vikings +3.

Game: San Francisco 49ers vs. Washington Redskins

Where: Landover, Maryland – FedEx Field

Kickoff: 1:00 pm ET

TV: FOX

Spread: Redskins -11

Nick’s Pick: Washington is obviously the better overall team and they get the benefit of playing at home, while it may feel like 10:00 am for the ‘Niners when the ball is kicked off Sunday afternoon at FedEx Field. That said, San Francisco is much better than their 0-5 record may indicate and giving any NFL team over ten points with the amount of parity in this year’s league seems silly. Nick’s Pick is 49ers +11.

Game: Chicago Bears vs. Baltimore Ravens

Where: Baltimore, Maryland – M&T Bank Stadium

Kickoff: 1:00 pm ET

TV: FOX

Spread: Ravens -6.5

Nick’s Pick: Despite losing in Mitchell Trubisky’s NFL debut on Monday Night Football, the Bears were certainly competitive in losing late to the Vikings. However, it’s a short week and now Trubisky and his banged up Chicago team enter one of the more difficult environments in the NFL. Swallowing nearly a touchdown is never fun, but Baltimore could make this ugly Sunday. Nick’s Pick is Ravens -6.5.

Game: Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Kansas City Chiefs

Where: Kansas City, Missouri – Arrowhead Stadium

Kickoff: 4:25 pm ET

TV: CBS

Spread: Chiefs -4.5

Nick’s Pick: If it were Week 1 of the NFL season this game may be a pick ‘em. However, Kansas City comes into this Sunday showdown undefeated at 5-0 on the year while the Steelers just dropped a terrible game to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Erase last week from your memory and ride Big Ben with 4.5 points. The Steelers may not win this game, but they won’t lose by more than a field goal. Nick’s Pick is Steelers +4.5.

Game: New York Giants vs. Denver Broncos

Where: Denver, Colorado – Sports Authority Field at Mile High Stadium

Kickoff: 8:30 pm ET

TV: NBC

Spread: Broncos -12

Nick’s Pick: The “FLEX Schedule” isn’t available this early in the season for these nationally televised games? Ewww. The Broncos have been impressive in opening the season 3-1, while Eli Manning and the Giants are a mess, still winless in 2017 and rolling into Denver at 0-5 on the season. That said, this is still the NFL and despite the G-Men battling injuries, they will not get embarrassed on Sunday evening and some how find a way to keep this game close. Nick’s Pick is Giants +12.
