CLEVELAND – Now that baseball season has ended here with the Indians falling in the ALDS to the New York Yankees, you may just now be shifting your focus to football. How fast does time fly? We’re entering into Week 7 already of college football. “Picks With Nick” is continuing making selections against the spread (for entertainment purposes only, of course) in both college and NFL football.

Following our first season, in which we nailed 54% of the games we selected against the spread (ATS), we are back at it again enjoying another winning season so far. In fact, here’s our numbers through six weeks of college football and five weeks of the NFL against the number:

CFB: 17-13-1 (57%)

NFL: 13-7 (65%)

Total: 30-20-1 (60%)

Our picks are made against Las Vegas oddsmakers merely helping create football interactions on Facebook and Twitter, as well as online and on-air content for Newsradio WTAM 1100 and WTAM.com.

Similar to last football season, our goal is to win 53% of our picks against the spread. Las Vegas sports books, give us 11/10 odds or -110, so in order to break even in picking games against the spread (ATS) we must win 52.4% of the games we select. Winning 58% of picks ATS would place you among the most elite sports handicappers in the world. We’ll shoot for somewhere between 53% - 58% again this season.

We are again keeping our college and NFL selections separate, but we will update the results weekly with full transparency seeing how we stack up against the Las Vegas oddsmakers. We are coming off a winning first season in which we hit 54% ATS in college football and NFL combined in 2016.

“Picks With Nick” will also feature a radio segment weekly on Newsradio WTAM 1100 discussing our selections.

Below is our full slate of college football picks featuring five selections ATS for Week 7:

Game: Florida State Seminoles vs. Duke Blue Devils

Where: Durham, North Carolina – Wallace Wade Stadium

Kickoff: 12:00 pm ET

TV: ESPN2

Spread: Florida State -7

Nick’s Pick: The Seminoles are coming off a tough, close loss to No. 11 Miami (Fla.) last week, but Duke looked downright terrible last week in a road loss at Virginia. Florida State is more talented on both sides of the football and as long as they are not feeling sorry for themselves after last week’s loss to the Hurricanes, they should win easily in Durham. Nick’s Pick is Florida State -7.

Game: South Carolina Gamecocks vs. Tennessee Volunteers

Where: Knoxville, Tennessee – Neyland Stadium

Kickoff: 12:00 pm ET

TV: ESPN

Spread: Tennessee -3

Nick’s Pick: Tennessee has been a mess this season. They have yet to win an SEC game this year and head coach Butch Jones may have the hottest seat in college football. But all of that is outside noise. The bottom line is, Tennessee is a better overall team on both sides of the football than South Carolina. Being at Neyland Stadium with over 100,000 fans also never hurts. Nick’s Pick is Tennessee -3.

Game: Auburn Tigers vs. LSU Tigers

Where: Baton Rouge, Louisiana – Tiger Stadium

Kickoff: 3:30 pm ET

TV: CBS

Spread: Auburn -7

Nick’s Pick: This will be a tight, highly entertaining football game. And No. 10 Auburn, who has started out 3-0 in SEC play should win this game on Saturday. However spotting LSU a touchdown at home provides too much value, and while Ed Orgeron’s team may not win this game they should keep it close. Nick’s Pick is LSU +7.

Game: Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Nebraska Cornhuskers

Where: Lincoln, Nebraska – Memorial Stadium

Kickoff: 7:30 pm ET

TV: FS1

Spread: Ohio State -24

Nick’s Pick: Ohio State wins this football game Saturday night in Lincoln, hence them being 24-point favorites. However, night games at Memorial Stadium are never easy and the Cornhuskers are playing for coach Mike Riley who probably gets fired by the end of this 2017 season. Nick’s Pick is Nebraska +24.

Game: Washington Huskies vs. Arizona State Sun Devils

Where: Tempe, Arizona – Sun Devil Stadium

Kickoff: 10:45 pm ET

TV: ESPN

Spread: Washington -18

Nick’s Pick: Outside of Nick Saban and Urban Meyer, there may not be a better coach in the country than Chris Petersen of Washington. The Huskies are undefeated and look poised to make a run at the College Football Playoff for the second-straight season. However, giving a PAC-12 team over 17 points at home, yes, even Arizona State is too good of an opportunity to pass up. Nick’s Pick is Arizona State +18.
