The Cleveland Indians will be without Manager Terry Francona for the rest of the season. The 61-year old is stepping away from the club to address ongoing medical issues.
'Tito' managed just 14 games during the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign due to blood clot issues. Francona also underwent surgery on his left big toe in January and has been in a walking boot since.
Bench coach DeMarlo Hale is taking over as Interim Manager of the club with Francona out. Third base coach Mike Sarbaugh is taking over as Bench Coach while Coaching Assistant Kyle Hudson takes over as the Third Base coach.
