A Southwest Airlines pilot avoided a stiffer sentence for watching porn and exposing himself to a flight attendant. 60-year-old Michael Haak apologized after pulling the move back in August, and on Friday U.S. Magistrate Judge J. Mark Coulson sentenced Haak to one year of probation and a $5k fine.
The major problem with what he did was that it happened while Haak was supposed to be flying the plane. Apparently, when a flight from Philadelphia to Orlando reached cruising altitude, he got out of the pilot’s seat, “disrobed,” and started watching porn on a laptop in the cockpit as the first officer continued to perform her duties.
Haak has apologized, and the prosecutor in the case said it was “not the kind of aberrant behavior that anyone should accept.” There's some that's acceptable?
