Former Ohio Department of Health Director, Dr. Amy Acton, has been honored by the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation.
Acton has received a special Profile In Courage Award for her handling of the COVID-19 pandemic in Ohio.
In honoring Acton, The Foundation says she is among those recognized for going 'above and beyond their everyday responsibilities to help those in their communities.'
Dr. Acton quit as Ohio's Health Director last June, about 4 months in to the pandemic.
