Cleveland Indians Send All-Star SS Francisco Lindor To The Mets

The long anticipated trade of Cleveland Indians Shortstop Francisco Lindor has been made.

The Tribe sends Lindor and Right handed starter Carlos Carrasco to the New York Mets in exchange for Shortstops Ahmed Rosario and Andres Gimenez along with prospects Josh Wolf, a right handed pitcher and outfielder Isaiah Greene.

Since being called up in 2015, Lindor has lead all Major League shortstops in home runs (138), extra-base hits, WAR (28.4) while ranking second in RBI (411) and runs (508).

Lindor also garnered two Gold Gloves and two Silver Slugger Awards to go along with a .285 batting average.

Carrasco, who made a tremendous comeback from Leukemia in 2019, was 88-73 with a 3.77 ERA during his 11 seasons with the club.

The 25-year old Rosario has spent 2017 through 2020 with the Mets compiling a .268, 32 HR, and 148 RBI stat line during that time.

Gimenez is 22 years old and hit .263 with three home runds and 12 RI in just 49 games in 2020.
