Etienne Hardre, who owns Locals Barbershop in Colorado Springs, is suing Colorado Governor Jared Polis over coronavirus relief that is earmarked for small businesses owned by minorities.
Hardre, who is white, says that the $4 million dollars designated for businesses that are at least 51-percent minority owned is unconstitutional.
Hardre calls foul because he says the aid is based entirely on race and that the Governor and the state's Minority Business Office failed to show how the funds remedy racism or discrimination.
Hardre says he's lost a third of his revenue during the pandemic but because he's white, he can not receive any of the money available.
