Congratulations to the local high school football teams who brought home state titles in the OHSAA State Championship games this weekend.
The Greater Cleveland champs include Chardon in Division-3 who knocked off Columbus St. Francis DeSales Saturday in two overtimes 31-28 and Kirtland in Division-5 who pounded Ironton 38-0 on Saturday.
The Kirtland game was highlighted by a tremendous one-handed, sideline catch made by the Hornets Joey Grazia. His grab actually checked in at #1 on ESPN SportsCenter's 'Top Plays' Saturday. . WATCH VIDEO!
The area also had a state runner-up in Lake Catholic who lost a close battle Sunday to Van Wert 31-28 in the Division-4 title game.
