Two Louisville, Kentucky Police officers have been shot and wounded just hours after charges were filed against a former Louisville police officer in the March shooting death of Breonna Taylor.
One of the officers was reportedly shot in the abdomen below the bullet proof vest and rushed into surgery. The other officer was shot in the leg.
The shootings took place about an hour before a citywide curfew went into effect in Louisville at 9pm. Former Louisville P.D. Detective Brett Hankison was charged with three counts of felony wanton endangerment in connection with Taylor's death.
Hankison and two other officers served a warrant at Taylor's apartment when her boyfriend fired a shot at the officers, one of which was struck in the leg.
They returned fire and Taylor was fatally struck. Protests played out in the hours following Hankison's indictment. Hankison posted $15,000 bail and was released Wednesday afternoon.
