Cleveland's own Stipe Miocic was involved in a classic UFC Heavyweight title bout with Daniel Cormier Saturday night, the last in a trilogy of battles between the heavyweight titans.
UFC 252 lived up to all the hype as Miocic would outlast nemesis Cormier in the five rounder won by Stipe by unanimous decision in Las Vegas.
Miocic would almost end it in the second round when he dazed Cormier with a number of rights before the bell ultimately saved Cormier.
When the final horn sounded, the judges ruled it 49-46, 49-46 and 48-47 in Stipe's favor. The victory allowed Miocic to retain his heavyweight title and confirmed he is the greatest heavyweight in the history of the UFC.
After the fight, Miocic said he's going to enjoy his young daughter and family for the rest of the summer before determining what's next.
