Washington's NFL franchise dropped the name 'Redskins' last week after coming under years of scrutiny deeming the name was offensive toward Native Americans.
The team will now be referred to as the 'Washington Football Team' until a new name is found.
It's unclear how long the team will go with the new moniker.
The player's uniforms will be the traditional burgundy and gold with burgundy helmets featuring the players numbers instead of a logo.
The franchise used the 'Redskins' name for 87 years before dropping it last week.
