The U.S. House has okay'ed a bill to remove statues of Robert E. Lee and other Confederate leaders at the U.S. Capitol.
The measure also calls for the removal of a bust of Chief Justice Roger B. Taney who authored the Dred Scott decision which declared African-Americans could not be U.S. citizens.
The statues that would be removed include that of General Lee and Jefferson Davis, the Confederate president.
The House bill passed by a 305-to-113 vote and is now headed to the Senate where it's prospects are unclear.
