Los Angeles County Deputies got a bit of a surprise when longtime Congresswoman Maxine Waters intervened shortly after police made a traffic stop Friday morning.
Deputies stopped a black motorist to question him about a burglary investigation and the incident was recorded by a witness close to Waters' vehicle.
Waters can be heard saying 'They stopped a brother, so I stopped to see what they were doing.'
Deputies warned the 81-year old waters she could be ticketed for illegal parking to which she responded "That's OK."
The Democratic Congresswoman was ultimately released with a warning. The man being questioned was also released.
