The United States Supreme Court has blocked the Trump administration's effort to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or 'DACA'.
The Obama-era program protected hundreds of thousands of immigrants brought to the country illegally as children from deportation.
In a 5-4 vote, Justices ruled the administration failed to provide adequate reasoning for ending the program.
Chief Justice John Roberts provided the swing vote in siding with liberals on the bench.
There are an estimated 800,000 DACA recipients in the U.S.
