Exotic dancers are finally getting back to work at a gentleman's club called "The Den" that straddles the Colorado-Wyoming border. Although some of the property is in Colorado, The Den is technically in Wyoming.
Owners Greg and Kim Chavez said, "It's been horrible to go almost three months without any kind of income." Wyoming has seen significantly fewer COVID-19 cases and deaths than Colorado and allowed bars and restaurants to reopen to in-person service on Friday.
That includes The Den which is one of the first strip clubs in the country to reopen. The owners say they were packed as they had people from Omaha, Utah, Nebraska, Wyoming, Colorado, and South Dakota.
The patrons were practicing social distancing and all dancers and staff must wear masks inside the club. However, some of the strict guidelines could be hazardous for the dancers.
One dancer named Jenny Boswell said, "As long as I get to work and start bringing in money again I'm okay with it right now," though she added, "We're on eight-inch heels and obviously a mask sometimes messes with your vision like I need to be able to see where my feet are going. In eight-inch heels, it could be deadly."
