The massive economic stimulus bill is headed to President Trump's desk after final passage by the House. The roughly two-trillion dollar measure is a response to the growing coronavirus crisis. It is the largest economic rescue package in American history.
The package includes 300 billion dollars for individuals and families. Singles making up to $75,000 a year will receive checks of $1,200 while married couples earning up to $150,000 will receive checks of $2,400 and an additional $500 dollars for each child. The payments will be capped to people making $99,000 a year.
The package also includes 350 billion dollars in small business loans, 250 billion dollars in unemployment insurance benefits, 100 billion dollars for hospitals, 150 billion dollars for local governments and 500 billion dollars for distressed companies. The bill now goes to President Trump's desk for his signature.
