The number of coronavirus cases in Ohio has now topped 1,000. Governor Mike DeWine, and Ohio Department of Health Director Dr. Amy Acton made the announcement Friday afternoon.
There are now 1,137 cases of COVID-19 statewide with 19 fatalities. Two hundred seventy six people are hospitalized statewide with the illness.
Dr. Acton did say the state could see upwards of 10,000 new cases a day in Ohio when the virus's peak hit which is expected around mid-April.
