There will be no primary vote in Ohio afterall Tuesday. Hours after a Franklin County Judge ruled against a lawsuit to seek a halt to the primary over concerns over Coronavirus, Ohio Department of Health Director Dr. Amy Acton is ordering the polls closed as a health emergency.
Governor Mike DeWine and Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose, earlier Monday, recommended the vote be delayed until June 2nd with voters being allowed to cast ballots by absentee until that date.
Two women filed suit to have the vote delayed until the first Tuesday in June citing their increased risks to Coronavirus due to their elderly status.
Secretary of State LaRose will now seek a remedy through the courts to grant every voter an opportunity to cast their vote.
