(Cleveland) - Ohio's Back-to-School Sales tax holiday got underway at midnight and runs through 11:59pm Sunday night.

Throughout the period, the following items are exempt from sales and use taxes:

School instructional material priced at $20 per item or less.

Ohio Senate Bill 226 provides for a permanent sales tax holiday on the first Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of August each year. Items used in a trade or business are not exempt under the sales tax holiday.
