The owners of more than 100 vehicles are getting new tires on their vehicles after they ran over sharp, metal debris on I-77 Tuesday afternoon.
A dump truck filled with the sharp pieces lost its load on 77-Northbound after getting on the freeway at Grant Avenue only to drop the sharp scrap metal for miles on the roadway.
77-North had to be shut-down for four hours while the objects were cleaned up and the vehicles towed away.
77-North was closed from I-480 all the way to East 30 Street.
The driver of the dump truck was cited for dropping loads on the highway and not covering a load being hauled.
