Ohioans must now wait until their 21st birthdays to buy cigarettes, cigars, vape pens and other tobacco items.
The age increase became law Thursday morning under a portion of the state budget bill Governor DeWine signed into law.
The higher age takes effect immediately. It also applies to blunt wrappers, rolling papers, filters and other accessories needed for smoking or vaping.
