The Superbowl still draws a large television audience but its' ratings continue to spiral downward.
Ratings for the lowest scoring Superbowl ever were down by five percent from a year ago, according to the Nielsen figures.
The 13-3 defensive battle, won by the New England Patriots over the Los Angeles Rams, drew a 44.9 household rating.
That is the lowest rating for a Super Bowl when the 2009 game drew a 42.1 rating.
