(Cleveland) - The Cleveland Browns formally introduced Freddie Kitchens as the team's new head coach Monday afternoon during a news conference at FirstEnergy Stadium.
Kitchens becomes the 17th head coach in Cleveland Browns history. Kitchens replaces Gregg Williams who lead the Browns to a 5-and-3 record on an interim basis after taking over for the fired Hue Jackson in late October.
Kitchens offensive philosophy benefited rookie QB Baker Mayfield down the stretch, as Mayfield finished the season as a finalist for NFL Rookie Of The Year.
Kitchens has started to fill out his coaching staff as he has tabbed former Tampa Bay Offensive Coordinator Todd Monken to the same position with the Browns.
Kitchens has also named former Cardinals Head Coach Steve Wilks as the Browns new Defensive Coordinator.
